GREEN UP
RUN BEYOND THE FINISH LINE
LONG AN HALF MARATHON 2024
About
A medal not to be missed
Continuing the journey of the GreenUP Marathon, Coteccons Construction Joint Stock Company (Coteccons) in collaboration with Tuoi Tre newspaper will co-organize the GreenUP Marathon: Long An Half Marathon 2024 in Can Giuoc district, Long An province on August 24, 2024. Early bird tickets officially go on sale on June 12, 2024.
Returning in August 2024, the GreenUp Marathon promises to bring runners a unique and unprecedented experience. This time, participants will stride through the "million-dollar view" of the picturesque Mekong Delta, taking in the lush greenery of nipa palm forests, trees, vast rice fields, and the intricate network of rivers and canals.
The GreenUP Marathon: Long An Half Marathon 2024 sets the stage for the first race in Vietnam to feature a route crossing the Soai Rap River at Long An International Port, home to the tallest flagpole in Indochina.
Long An - a fertile land in the Mekong Delta, is home to famous cultural landmarks and distinctive cuisine. It will inspire runners to not only participate in the marathon for health benefits but also combine the event with tourism, strengthening bonds with family, friends, and teams.
With the spirit of the GreenUP Marathon: Long An Half Marathon 2024 as a foundation for athletes to conquer future finish lines, the organizers offer a unique prize in addition to the basic awards. The top male and female winners will receive a plane ticket and an entry to the Laguna Phuket Marathon in Thailand in June 2025.
Run beyond the finish line
GreenUP Marathon: Half Marathon Long An 2024 also marks the 20-year milestone of Coteccons in Vietnam. Through this year's season, Coteccons conveys the message "Run beyond the finish line”.
In everyone's life, there are different "Finish lines," and reaching one marks the beginning of pursuing the next.
On any racecourse, whether in a marathon or in life, victory or medals are not everything. Running is about accompanying development, sharing values, supporting each other, and together conquering greater visions.
Spreading the GreenUp vision
The GreenUP Marathon, after two years of organization, has left a lasting impression on the hearts of runners as a season of running imbued with the spirit of green construction. It's a place where running routes aren't just racetracks for winning championships, but also where a community of running enthusiasts come together to create and promote sustainable green values.
The running event emphasizes maximizing the use of recycled materials from construction sites such as scaffolding, shade nets, etc., to minimize the use of single-use materials. The race kit also prioritizes being made from recycled materials.
In the first two seasons, nearly 20,000 trees have been planted, contributing to greening Vietnam under the Prime Minister's initiative. By participating in the GreenUp Marathon: Long An Half Marathon 2024, runners will become ambassadors spreading green lifestyles and contribute to the tree planting fund of the GreenUP Marathon.
With a fresh new look, the running event inspires to spread awareness about the salinity intrusion issue in the Mekong Delta region. At the same time, it creates opportunities for Long An to lead in tourism, spreading the beauty of this hospitable land.
